Taking Fat Back

So I had a thought…(and this just goes to show you how the mind wanders at 1am on a Saturday night):

I think I prefer Buffy with Spike instead of Angel.  (Don’t ask how this thought process began).  

When Buffy was with Angel, her parents had just got divorced, she moved to a new town where she initially thought that her time as a slayer was over after burning down her school gym chock-full of vampires.  She met this hot, older man who is tall, dark, and brooding, and a little dangerous.  This man who is 100+ years older than her which makes her look up to him because he has “life experience” and that’s a admirable quality to a 16-year-old girl.  She can learn from him and he can protect her while she protects the world.  And the fact that he can snap her neck if she ever lets her guard down only heightens the feelings of awe and love.  

But with Spike, he kidnapped her.  She used him for sex.  He offered to kill his ex for proof of his love for her.  THEN, he raped her.  AND SHE STILL WENT BACK!!!!  Not for a long time, but she trusted him with her little sister.  The others eventually warmed up to him enough that he was part of their patrol.  She confided in him about when she was in heaven and trusted him to keep the secret from her friends.  She removed the chip that kept him from hurting people.  And he went through hell to get a soul…for her!  

To me, Angel and Buffy were like first loves.  He couldn’t be what she needed and she was just happy for the experience.  Basically….she was a teenager in love.

Buffy and Spike on the other hand, were Love.  They went through hell together.  They punished each other.  They comforted each other.  And when the time came, he died and she let him go…and she didn’t even have to be the one to kill him.  

They Loved as opposed to the love she had with Angel.

And that my friends, is why you should take cold medicine on an empty stomach at 12:30 at night.

Now….

I’ve put up with a lot from you these last 3 years.  There’s been fake babies, teen pregnancy, stupid rule violations over mattresses, bullying, horrible cover songs, a shocking lack of screen and song time from Mercedes, a over-exposure of the vocals of one Ms. Rachel Berry, a cat addicted to Ecstasy, breaking up Samcedes after putting them together for a split-second, making Mercedes run from Sam even AFTER she admit her love for him and became single, the endless names: Aretha, Jailbird, Manhands, Satan, Wheels, Asian, and Sugar Motta…(really?)

I’ve put up with a lot from you.  We’ve broken up and gotten back together 2 or 3 times a year and this time I was in a somewhat happy place.  Still pissed about Samcedes, but still happy.

But you had to do this to me.

How could you take a mostly light-hearted show, full of laughter and music and start the first 5 minutes with a suicide attempt?  30 minutes in, and I was still tearing up about Karofsky.  The episode has been over for 10 minutes and I’m still tearing up.  You played with my emotions before the first song had barely begun.  I was already an emotional wreck…

And then the truck hit.

I hate you Glee.  I hate that  you deem it necessary to play with my emotions like this.  I hate that you don’t give me what I want (Samcedes), too much of what I don’t want (finn and rachel mooning over each other) and then you sucker-punch me. (see above: truck) 

And most of all, I hate that I have to wait another 2 months before things are resolved.  

I have to cry now.  Are you happy, Glee?

where I don’t want to watch my shows anymore because it’s not following the plot of my favorite fanfics:

Merlin and Arthur are not lovers….

Mercedes is not in a relationship with both Sam AND Puck….

Rachel Berry isn’t getting bitch-slapped….

The Doctor and Martha have not found their way back to each other….

Sam is not fucking Mercedes in a janitor’s closet…

Martha is not Not human due to the “genetic transfer”, the Lazarus machine, and the reset drug….

Nathan Stark isn’t still alive and Jack Carter is NOT his lover…

Hermione Granger will not grow up to be River Song….

Rose has not gone completely bat-shit crazy and been put in a mental institution by Jackie at the Doctor’s insistence…

Martha is not having a threesome with the Doctor and Jack…

Donna has not regained her memories and resumed travelling with the Doctor…

Buffy and the Scoobies are not fighting off a Cyberman invasion with the Doctor, Merlin, Arthur, Jethro and Faith…

Faith is not fucking the Doctor…

Merlin is not pregnant with Arthur’s child….

Magic is not legal in Camelot…

Martha is not part dragon and will not live for at least 400 more years….

I could go on but frankly its depressing to think I won’t see this on my tv.

*sigh*

I will give the Samcedes fanfiction authors time to write around the new development.  I’ll be back tomorrow.  

For now, I will pay close attention to the other power couple in my life: Arthur and Merlin.  Because the fanfics of the 2 of them…..

It’s not hero worship when its truth people!  Not to mention the fact that as sad as her death is, I ain’t shocked.
